Why do I see a higher battery consumption during testing?

First, you need to know that the battery consumption displayed on your device is a relative measure. That means that the percentages shown for the different apps in the Settings depend on what's happening with all the other apps running on the device. The usage shown would always total in 100%, whether the device has been running for 5 minutes or 5 hours.

In a typical environment (normal phone usage with the most common apps running) the SDK should have a battery usage of 1% to 2%, sometimes up to 5%. If you use a dedicated test device, without other apps (or only a few), that you only use for testing, the relative battery consumption will be significantly higher since no other apps are using the battery and it's not used like a phone is typically used. Hence, the app with the predict.io SDK will likely be the only app running constantly.

If you have a normal usage, with browser, news, messaging, social media etc. the relative consumption will be on a level described in the beginning.
