Does the SDK use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA)?

When you’re ready to submit your app, you will be presented with a question about whether your app uses the Advertising Identifier. Make sure you select Yes to this question.

After you select Yes, you have three options:

  • Serve advertisements within the app.
  • Attribute this app installation to a previously served advertisement.
  • Attribute an action taken within this app to a previously served advertisement.

Make sure you select the second and the third option. Failing to do so will put your app into the Invalid Binary status or you may encounter "Improper advertising identifier [IDFA] usage" error during uploading of the Binary using Xcode.

iOS Limited Ad Tracking

The SDK collects the iOS "Limit Ad Tracking" ("advertisingTrackingEnabled") flag when collecting IDFA. fully complies with Apple requirement.

On Apr 11, Apple released updated guidelines for iTunes Connect on how app developers can use IFA (IDFA).
